What I have done with WikiWikiWeb:

So far I have handled several issues in WikiWikiWeb that trouble people on other sites. Security, multiple simultaneous check-ins, who did what (really).

Why I have done this

My goal is to increase the collaboration potential on sites without exposing casual users to arcane tools (like ftp). Sites that run wiki may suprise you (unless you have already been there).
