Field Day At Harrison High |
|
I remember some details from the Field Day out at Harrison High
School. JimWilson and TomTengdin had the telephone pole climbing
jobs to string the dipoles. The radio operation was out of the press
box at the top of the grandstand. Tom brought a propane fueled
generator. ?NeilSydor, WB9AUU, was one of several crack contest
operators. PeteHallenbeck, WA1YNN, may have been around for it too.
His wife Jill, WB9STW, (a first-class EE) was probably around also. -- SteveBelter
We generally ran two stations. I remember setting up one in what I think was a breezeway, and the other in the pressbox. ?WardCunningham developed the SuperDuper to computer-log the contest, which was something pretty rare back in those days. -- TomDoligalski
