Thanks to your software learning tool, I was able to pass my Tech Plus exam this past weekend. I could not have done it without the program. The tapes and CD's were too easy to memorize. The interactive random copy is what did it. I did use the CD set from the ARRL to reinforce the computer program, but the software did it for me. -- Jeffery Mitchell

I enjoyed your Morse Code Teaching Machine - I touch type and passed my 20wpm code test years and years ago. I've taught Morse to children and adults - I thought you'd be interested in my reaction to your machine. I found it "relentless" in finding my weaknesses and pushing me to improve - I didn't even realize I was having problems with certain characters until I saw the 'probability of error' rising for them! I copied for over an hour, pushing to get all the 'probability' bars to zero - something I accomplished only once in the session. Then fatigue set in, and so did the errors. When I work with children, I try to slow down the rate until they experience some success. After seeing your machine, I interested to try pushing them a little harder. -- Norm Goodkin
The program strives for a specific error rate. I ran computer simulations to study the effect of the specific error rate on long-term learning. Then, with real subjects, I compared their distribution profiles to the simulations to choose a standard rate for humans. -- Ward

It is an old program that predates the use of sound cards. All of the sound comes out of the small speaker built into your computer's case. Find out where that speaker is and make sure it is facing you. Good luck and best regards. -- Ward
