These free-to-borrow bikes are providing an inner city option to those who otherwise use: polluting or inefficient cars and busses; expensive, theft vulnerable cycles; or shoe leather (walking is slower and far less fun.)

Free community bikes can: promote more efficient transportation; build hope and trust; assist in community policing; burn calories; get unused bikes under needy riders.
